Dermal Fillers FAQ's

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are popular treatments for wrinkles and facial lines. They can also enhance lips and add definition to your chin and cheeks.

Dermal Fillers treat the following areas:

•Naso labial lines (between the nose and mouth)
•Marionette lines (the so-called 'smile lines' in the corners of the mouth)
•Crow's Feet
•Frown lines
•Depressions and blemishes (such as acne scars)
•Hollow or sunken cheeks (caused by fat atrophy due to the ageing process)
•Correcting indentations, tips, bumps and unevenness in the nose and chin
•Improving contours of the jaw

What are the differences between Botox and Dermal Fillers?

Our Dermal Fillers (Restalyne, Restalyne Lipp and Perlane) and Botox work in different ways to smooth and rejuvenate your skin. They fill in and smoothes away facial lines and acne scars, other skin contour deficiencies, and lost volume.

How are Dermal Fillers administered?

The area to be treated will be numbed using a topical cream anaesthetic. Your may be advised to have a local anaesthetic, especially if you're having volume added to your lips. But since our fillers are injected with a very fine needle, you'll only feel a brief sting, if any.

How long does Dermal Filler treatment take?

Depending on the number of areas treated, approximately 30 minutes.  You have slight redness or swelling following treatment but this will soon disappear.

What results can I expect from Dermal Fillers?

The results will be immediate. Your skin will be smoother and younger looking. Once any swelling has subsided the results will be subtle and pleasing.
